Movie Review : Adinetha
Rating : 3/5
Banner : Sri Satya Sai
ArtsCast : Jagapathi Babu, Shraddha Das, Hamsa Nandini, Neelima, Ahuti Prasad, Anand Raj, Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Chalapathi Rao, Annapurna, Sivaparvathi, Krishna Bhagawan and Others
Cinematography : Prasad బాబు
Music : Srikanth Deva
Producer: K K Radhamohan
Director: V Samudra
Story:
A political story, the tale begins with Suryanarayana (Jagapathi) who hails from a village and does not have a job but then he has the will to serve the people and stand against wrong activities. His parents (Chalapathi Rao and Annapurna) request the local MLA Sriramulu (Paruchuri) to get Suri a job. With his recommendation, Suri comes to Hyderabad and joins the Chief Minister’s (Ahuti Prasad) office as personal secretary to him. In this process, he comes across Rajeshwari (Shraddha) and falls in love with him. Meanwhile, the villain Mahendra’s (Anandraj) brother and his friends rape a girl and goes scot free. He is close to the CM and Sriramulu vows to bring them to justice. However, he is killed with a staged accident and then his last wish is to see Suri entering politics. With the support of Sriramulu’s wife (Sivaparvathi), Suri becomes an MLA but a twist of incident happens and he ends up becoming the Chief Minister. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Presentation:
The director has come up with a political subject but he has not been upto mark both in the narrative and presentation departments. The dialogues were not that strong, the script was mediocre and the screenplay was not impressive. Even the songs were not that special and it looked like the tunes were hits of yesteryears. Camera could not capture the foreign locations correctly and failed in the long and short frames. Editing was abrupt, costumes were just okay and the art department was alright. Jagapathi Babu did his best to suit the role of CM and did justice, Shraddha Das must improve in dance and expressions, Hamsa looked sensuous and has that appeal in her. Ahuti Prasad was neat, Anandraj was regular, Chalapathi Rao and Annapurna were regular, Krishna Bhagawan managed few light moments. The others did not have much say.
Conclusion:
The film attempted to show how a common man with good ideals can become a politician and that too a Chief Minister. However, it looked like there were few satires on few political parties and individuals and at the same time, there were few flaws in the making. The first half of the film was quite slow and looked stale in the content and presentation, only the second half has got some momentum but then again the climax gets dragged and then there is a final scene that takes ages to complete. The film has got some stuff for the mass audience but apart from that there is nothing special about it.

Veedokkade Movie Review

Movie Review : VeedokkadeRating : 2.75/5Banner : Sun Pictures & AVM ProductionsCast : Suriya, Prabhu, Tamannah, Renuka, Akashdeep Saigal, Jagan, Ponvannan, Karunaas Others and OthersMusic : Harris JeyarajCinematography : M S PrabhuProducer: M. Saravanan, M.S. Guhan, Aruna Guhan, Aparna GuhanDirector: K.V. AnandReleased Date: May 01, 2009
Story:A tale of revenge, the story begins with Deva (Suriya) who is a post graduate and unlike others trying for a government job, he is busy working for Das (Prabhu) who is a smuggler. They have a rival in the form of Kamalesh (Akashdeep) who does not hesitate to go to any extent to make the duo’s life miserable. Meanwhile, Deva falls in love with Yamuna (Tamannah), sister of Chitti (Jagan) who works for Das. The story takes a turn when a raid occurs and Deva realizes that iti s someone from their own close circle who did that. Meanwhile, Kamalesh decides to take a short cut and he gets Chitti killed and due to a twist of events, even Das gets killed. Enraged by this, Deva decides to put an end to Kamalesh and his business. How he does that forms the rest of the story.
Presentation:The director came up with a routine storyline but the strength lied in its presentation and narrative. The dialogues were sensible, the script was written without flaws and the screenplay was remarkable. Harris Jayaraj was not his usual best but the songs were okay. M S Prabhu’s cinematography deserves special mention as he has not let down his mentor. The real hero of the movie is the editor who came up with some really slick work. Costumes were exemplary and the art department was neat, special appreciations to the stunts department for their breathtaking sequences. The film belongs to Suriya completely as he is the life and soul of it. He has come up with some real good stunts and was quite expressive, Tamannah was beautiful and though her role was quite brief she made her presence felt, Prabhu was graceful, Akashdeep was evil enough, Jagan was above average and Karunaas was average, Renuka did her bit upto the standard.
Conclusion:The film has nothing to offer in terms of novelty or variety and also the length at which the movie has been made tests the audience patience a bit. While the first half goes about with the regular violence and romance, the second half somehow lost the full tempo but overall it is a pacy thriller. The film has got high technical values and some soul stirring performance by Suriya, though the content part is weak, the makers have managed to keep the audience busy with impressive works. The film has got the perfect formula for being a commercial movie and so the mass and youth audience will be appealed. The length could have been curtailed a bit.
Bharatstudent Verdict : Above average but lengthy!!!

the Industry turned up for Feroz Khan’s funeral"

the Industry turned up for Feroz Khan’s funeral"

On Monday evening Celina Jaitly was very upset, and not just because her mentor and guide and friend Feroz Khan had passed away.

At the funeral in Bangalore, Celina was horrified to see the poor turn-out from the film industry. "There was just me, Sajid Khan, Sanjay Gupta and Kishen Kumar. No one else came from Mumbai except the entire family of Feroz Khan .Among the top stars there was only Hrithik…But he’s family to the Khans."

Celina can’t hold back her tears. "I was shooting in Delhi when I heard of Feroz’s death. I couldn’t get a direct flight, so I flew into Bangalore from Mumbai. I had to. I couldn’t hold myself back. Feroz Khan was not just the man who gave me my first break. He was my dear friend. I am close to both his children Fardeen and Laila. As for Feroz, what can I say? I could discuss anything from Oscar Wilde to the latest Bollywood film with him. He inspired, amused and amazed me with his knowledge and enthusiasm."

The last time Celina met Feroz was three weeks ago. "I met him at the Breach Candy hospital. He got into his Versace track suit to meet me. That was the man, stylish even when he was in acute pain. He had needles sticking out of his body but he was wearing Versace. He said to me, ’Celina Baby (that’s what he called me) Look at what these f***ers have done to me."

She bursts into tears. "I’ll miss him so much. I’ve lost a dear friend, a father-figure. Years ago he had made Zeenat Aman a bikini girl in Qurbani. He made me the same in Janasheen. I’m very proud to be a Feroz Khan heroine."

Sridevi: ’He Made Me Agree To Do Janbaaz By Speaking Tamil’

“I’m glad people still remember me in that brief role. It’s all because of Mr Feroz Khan’s presentation
that I made an impact in Janbaaz,” says Sridevi.

Arguably the only guest appearance in her entire career
Jaanbaaz featured Sridevi in a song Har kisiki nahin milta yahan pyar lighting up the screen in an orange chiffon saree.

Recalls Sridevi, “At first I was hesitant because it was just a guest appearance. Also the presentation seemed a little too sensuous for my personality. But when Mr Khan spoke to me in my mother tongue I was immediately convinced. Yes, I was as surprised as you are. But he spoke fluent Tamil….He was very classy gentleman and his cinema reflected that. I was very proud to be in Jaanbaaz. It proved it’s not about the length of the role but the impact.”

Sighs Sri, “It’s sad we’ve lost an actor and filmmaker who defined style and sophistication in our films.Where are the filmmakers and filmmakers like him?”

Is that why she isn’t coming back to acting? “Whatever I do now has to enthuse me and my audience. I can’t just jump into it, for the sake of acting. It’s very difficult for me to find the right vehicle to come back.”

Priyamani’s nude show with towel

Priyamani’s nude show with towel

Priyamani is the heroine in the film ‘Mithrudu’. Balakrishna is the hero. In the film, Priyamani appears in just a bath towel along with her friend in her hostel room. So far so good, but a little later it gets a bit more shocking.

But a little later, her friend drops her towel and she also pulls off the towel of Priyamani This leaves Priyamani in the nude. The scene lasts for close to five minutes.

Now before you start imagining things, please understand that the director has taken enough care to show just her legs for some time and then showed her from her shoulders upwards for some time. Nothing more!

Kamalini Mukherjee Water babe?

Kamalini Mukherjee Water babe?

Kamalini Mukherjee one thought is a written off force. The last film she did was almost a year ago with Allari Naresh and that too was a major flop. She tried her luck with Tamil and Hindi movies, and there too she was not successful. But now, she is doing a Telugu film, and incidentally this movie is called Gopi Gopika Godavari Teeram. Venu is the male lead of the film.

As the name suggests, this is again a movie which has the river Godavari playing a major role. Every time there seems to be a Godavari in the name of the film, Kamalini seems to be in that movie, or is it the other way round.Whatever, Kamalini is turning out to be the water babe of Tollywood.

Successful Dil Raju celebrates victory

Successful Dil Raju celebrates victory

The most successful producer ‘Dil’ Raju of Sri Venkateswara Creations had celebrated the success of his banner in Hyderabad recently. Speaking on the occasion, he says, ‘We highlighted the human relations and the emotions among the family members in our films and hence the success.

So far we have produced eight films on our banner and all our films are hits. That was the reason we bagged three hits in a 11-month period. We had released Parugu on May 1, ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ on October 9 and ‘Akasamanta’ on March 27. All the three proved big success. We have decided to do three films every year and achieve hattrick hits.

This year we have two projects on hand. One is the introductory movie of Naga Chaitanya and Vasu Varma and another film to be directed by Ravi Yadav, which is almost like remake of ‘Maro Charitra’, the all-time classic of yesteryears. Next year, we have plans to produce ‘Rama Rama Krishna Krishna’ under the direction of Srivasu with the combination of Ram and Arjun.

Another film is also planned in the combination of Prabhas and Dasarath, while one more film is in the offing with NTR under the direction of Vamsi Paidipalli.

Surprisingly, all the three films that were planned next year were with experienced director only. After this, we have plans to introduce Venu Sriram and Prakash as directors. We will announce the starcast and technicians of these films very soon.’

Sexy Namitha bonds well with Anushka

Sexy Namitha bonds well with Anushka

Guess why Namitha rarely parties in the city? The lass says that she doesn’t have a circle of friends to party with in Chennai. In fact, she considers Anushka, with whom she acted in Billa, to be her friend in the industry. “I don’t find people who are genuine here,” she says and adds that she parties when she is in Hyderabad or Mumbai. “Anyway, the party scene in Chennai isn’t hot when compared to Mumbai,” she says.

Namitha, who was recently shooting in the city for Jaganmohini, is excited about the film which is loosely-based on the cult classic of the same name by Vittalacharya. We hear that she plays a shell diver who falls in love with the prince played by Telugu actor Raja but gets murdered by the status-conscious king. She returns as a ghost and what happens next forms the plot of film. Unit sources reveal that the actress will be seen at her glamorous best in the film. The actress has also undergone extensive training for a couple of days for the underwater portions that were shot in Mumbai.

YSR Garnered the maximum media coverage

YSR Garnered the maximum media coverage

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy garnered the maximum media coverage in the run up to the elections while Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) president Chiranjeevi ranked second and third respectively.

Of the trio, Rajasekhara Reddy got the most coverage in Telugu news dailies during the recent electioneering.

He, however, received more negative coverage, particularly in popular vernacular dailies ‘Eenadu’ and ‘Andhra Jyothi’, and completely positive coverage in `Sakshi’ owned by his son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. The Centre for Media Studies (CMS) tracked and analysed the entire campaign coverage of the three largely circulated Telugu dailies -- ‘Eenadu’, ‘Andhra Jyothi’ and ‘Sakshi’.

Rajasekhara Reddy got the most coverage, particularly negative, in `Eenadu’ and ‘Andhra Jyothi’ during the recent poll campaign, while Chandrababu Naidu and Chiranjeevi cornered about one-third of the election coverage.

`Sakshi’ gave the maximum negative and marginal positive coverage to Naidu.

As for actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, all the three papers gave him positive coverage, and the negative coverage given to him was almost negligible.

With regard to other leaders, both Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhara Rao and Lok Satta Party (LSP) chief Jayaprakash Narayan received more coverage than national and other regional leaders. However, Chandrasekhara Rao received more negative than positive and neutral coverage. Interestingly, Jayaprakash received completely positive coverage for his election campaigning.

Among the national leaders, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, BJP leaders LK Advani, M Venkaiah Naidu and CPM leader Sitaram Yechuri got more neutral coverage. BJP member Varun Gandhi got more space than these leaders, but the coverage was mostly negative.

As for the political parties, the ruling Congress got the most coverage (31 per cent), while the TDP and the PRP were also prominently covered by the three dailies. All the thsree parties shared more than half of the political news, while the remaining parties got 14 per cent coverage.

‘Eenadu’s coverage of the LSP was more than the other two papers.

Both `Eenadu’ and ‘Andhra Jyothi’ gave more negative coverage to the Congress, while ‘Sakshi’ gave more negative coverage to the TDP. The PRP got more positive coverage in all the three dailies. The TRS was given more negative coverage in ‘Andhra Jyothi’ and neutral coverage in ‘Sakshi’. Campaign coverage of all the dailies was mostly from the State capital, while ‘Eenadu’ devoted more space from outside Hyderabad.

TDP may fare well only in 3 dists of Andhra and Rayalaseema

TDP may fare well only in 3 dists of Andhra and Rayalaseema

HYDERABAD: The main Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which is expecting a simple majority in the Assembly to form the government, is likely to get a good number of seats only in three districts in Andhra and Rayalaseema.

The internal appraisal of the party indicated that the TDP fared well in Guntur, Chittoor and Anantapur districts. TDP leaders are not confident of getting a fair number of Assembly seats in the remaining districts.

With these indications, doubts are increasing in the party on getting a simple majority in the Assembly.

The TDP, which had been strong in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions till 2004, is now skeptical about getting many seats in the areas where there is a triangular fight among the TDP, the PRP and the Congress.

After analysing the poll trends, the TDP leaders are now revealing that the party would get more than 60 per cent of the Assembly seats in only three districts in Andhra and Rayalaseema.

According to sources, TDP leaders are confident of winning more than 60 per cent of the Assembly seats in Guntur, Chittor and Anantapur districts of the total nine districts which went to the polls in the second phase on April 23.

The TDP is expected to get 10 Assembly seats out of 17 in Guntur district.

If there was a silent wave in favour of the TDP, the party would get a maximum of 14 Assembly seats, party sources said.

However, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu expected that his party would sweep all the seats in Guntur district.

In Anantapur, a TDP bastion, party leaders expect to win eight to 10 Assembly seats out of the total 14 seats in the district. Likewise, in Chittoor district too, the TDP is expecting to win seven to 10 Assembly seats out of the 14 seats in the district.

TDP leaders are not sure of the party sweeping the polls in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, the twin Godavari districts, Krishna, Prakasam, Nellore and Kadapa districts. Even in Krishna district, the PRP’s presence was strong in East Krishna, a TDP leader admitted.

However, TDP leaders are not confident of getting a good number of seats in other districts.

In such a scenario, the TDP would not get a simple majority in the elections to form the government, analysts felt.

However, TDP leaders are exuding confidence that the Grand Alliance would form the next government.

And, even though there are rumours that the TDP is in touch with some former TDP leaders who contested on behalf of the PRP in the elections, party general secretary K Srihari has dismissed such reports, saying, “We will form the next government.

We are not consulting with leaders of the PRP.’’

TRS out to keep its flock together

TRS out to keep its flock together

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is busy making elaborate arrangements for the two-day ``camp’’ to be conducted for party candidates at the Telangana Bhavan on May 15 and 16.

The TRS leadership is expecting a ``hung situation’’ in both the Centre and in the State. So, too keep its MLAs together before and after declaration of results, the party will hold the camp at which the decision on whom to support will be taken.

Several prominent Telangana votaries and ideologues and 54 party candidates will stay put in “Telangana Bhavan’’ on the said days -- even skipping counting. Twenty-three well-appointed airconditioned rooms have been readied for the purpose.

All the candidates will reach the party office on the night of May 14.

Inspecting arrangements for the camp, TRS president Chandrasekhara Rao said the camp was not “part of a power game’’ but would be “like a training programme.’’

BJP party seeks Rs 10L compensation

BJP party seeks Rs 10L compensation

HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party Sunday demanded cancellation of contract with IL&FS for construction of bridge across KC Canal at Kurnool on NH-7 which claimed the life of site engineer Satish, a couple of days ago.

It also demanded announcement of Rs 10 lakh compensation to the victim’s family and Rs 5 lakh for persons who were severely injured.

BJP State president Bandaru Dattatreya stated that the fact-finding committee of the party comprising BJP vice-president GR Karunakar and former MLA Baddam Bal Reddy visited the spot on May 1. He said the cause of accident is due to the failure of one of the four jacks used during fixation of one girder leading the bridge to tilt and collapse into the canal.

“However, the officials failed to explain why the condition of all jacks were not tested or ascertained before using them ? There was only one site engineer at the spot but the officials are not ready to divulge the reason,’’ Dattatreya said.

Meanwhile CPI state secretary K Narayana demanded the State Government to take necessary action to curb the highhandedness of the contractors at the toll gates run by the National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI) across the State.

Narayana wrote a letter to Chief Secretary P Ramakanth Reddy to seek his intervention to resolve the issue.

According to rules, the contractors have to at least appoint 90 per cent exservicemen as staff at toll gates.

Though very few ex-servicemen were appointed, their salaries were not paid regularly as per the rules. If the State Government fail to sort out the matter, the CPI would launch agitations at all the toll gate plazas, he warned.

JC Prabhakar to surrender tomorrow

JC Prabhakar to surrender tomorrow

ANANTAPUR: Brother of J C Diwakar Reddy and Tadipatri municipal chairman, J C Prabhakar Reddy, said here in a press release Sunday that he would surrender to the police on May 5. The police suspect Prabhakar Reddy was responsible for the violence that erupted in the district after the just-concludent Assembly and parliamentary elections.

He said he was undergoing treatment at a private hospital for a lip injury he sustained in the violent incidents in Tadipatri.

Brushing aside thr reports that he was absconding since violence broke out in the district, he wondered if it was a crime to undergo treatment for an injury.

TDP leaders were politicising the issue, he claimed. Prbhakar Reddy said it was the Congress workers who bore the brunt of violence but TDP leaders were blaming his party supporters for what had happened.
