Politics News: PRP dream: Chiranjeevi CM with 40 seats


Praja Rajyam managers are expecting the party to win not less than 40 Assembly seats and expect to bargain for the Chief Minister’s post for party chief Chiranjeevi with support from either the Congress or the Telugu Desam in a hung House.

If the PR fails to secure not more than 30 seats, it will extend support either to the UPA or with the NDA at the Centre in exchange for a berth in the Cabinet.

The party general secretary, Mr Allu Aravind, on Thursday indicated that the PR was keeping its options at the Centre, saying, “We will take a step in the interests of the state.”

The former TD leaders in the PR are stepping up pressure on the leadership not to align with TD. Leaders like Mr T. Devender Goud and Mr Bhuma Nagi Reddy, have pointed out that being the fledgling party’s very existence would be threatened if the PR supports the TD.
