TDP criticised for introducing outsourcing

HYDERABAD: Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi on Friday lashed out against the Telugu Desam Party for ushering in the ‘outsourcing’ system during its nine-year rule and thus introducing a ‘dalaari’ (middlemen) system in virtually every sphere of activity and the Congress for continuing it.

At a May Day function in the party office this morning, the Praja Rajyam president regretted that because every kind of work in the public and private domains were now ‘outsourced’, the service providers skimmed off a significant chunk of the money they were paid, thus depriving workers of their precious little earnings.

Chiranjeevi said that there was lack of seriousness on the part of Government to provide better living conditions to the working classes or even ensuring effective monitoring to see that minimum wages and other facilities that they were entitled to, like minimum facilities at the workplace and things like that. Mr Chiranjeevi announced that soon ‘Karmika Rajyam’ and ‘Karshaka Rajyam’ will be formed in the interests of workers and farmers. “When the Praja Rajyam comes to power, you will see what a difference we will make in your lives,” he declared.

At a press conference later, spokesperson Vasireddy Padma criticised Congress Government for not even having an effective quality control system in place in all the projects - be it the massive irrigation projects under the ‘Jalayagnam’ programme or bridges or roads.

Party general secretary Jalli Siddaiah criticised Minister for Energy Mohd. Ali Shabbir for making ‘irresponsible and uncaring’ statements and saying there was no power problem in the State.

Likewise, he said it was sad for the Minister for Civil Supplies Kasu Venkatakrishna Reddy to say that prices were under control when people were reeling under the effect of skyrocketing prices of essential commodities.
