Tirupati, May.25:- The Telugu Mahila president and Telugu film actress, Ms Roja, on Monday felt that her party nominees in a large number of Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies were defeated due to the presence of the Praja Rajyam candidates in the electoral fray.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Ms Roja pointed out that after the megastar, Mr Chiranjeevi, floated the Praja Rajyam, not only some party leaders, but also a large number of party cadre had defected to the new party thinking that Mr Chiranjeevi would repeat the feat of late Mr N T Rama Rao.
With the entry of Praja Rajyam in the electoral fray, the votes of the combined Opposition split among the non-Congress parties resulting in the Telugu Desam party missing the chance of forming the government. Despite her unexpected defeat in the Chandragiri Assembly constituency at the hands of her Congress rival, Ms Galla Aruna Kumari, Ms Roja said that would continue in active politics.
